Envision AI. Envision is creating an AI personal assistant that you can name and personalize to your liking. They want it available not only to those using their glasses, but also to those using their free app. They call it Ally. Ally is currently in Beta, and I was just approved to be on the growing beta team. Since it is a beta, it does make mistakes, but it is getting better over time. Its just amazing on the number of different tools we have to choose from to help us accomplish everyday task! 😄, #Envision #Ally #AI #Personal #Assistant #Tool #Task
@ChrisChaffin it's a bit strnge so far though
@ChrisChaffin The problem of these technology is that we have not so much control on data sources, where they acquire information they give us. AI is not community-driven, few billionaires have its control in hands, and if USA president does the dispotic/dystopic things he claimed to do during his campaign, an aid to help us could become an aid of manipulation - not to speak about neuralink then. Assistive technologies should be transparent, and for all.
@ChrisChaffin They'll never do it, but it might be nce on the meta glasses too. The meta assistent's ok, but you can tell it's in its infancy so hopefully gets better over time.
@TinaSohl Its already on the Envision Glasses through the beta program. I just do not use it that way since I do not have the glasses myself.
@talksina I would agree that some of the major issues we have with the miss information from AI is the sources that information is retrieved from. I am hoping with time this will get better. But I do not take anything for granite, and always try to verify information.
@ChrisChaffin The trouble is that Musk is monopolizing everything and with his upcoming powers it will just become worse. Verify information, now is possible but if his satellites become the only way to connect on Internet, if X becomes main info source, if AI dominates search engines mechanisms, you can no longer rely on external service and we all end up in a golden prison.
@talksina We are a very long way from the Musk satelites being the only path to the internet, And I am not sure that would ever happen. It would be just like electric cars. He was one of the first that developed the technology, but look at all of the different choices we have now. So if getting the internet by satelite becomes more affordable where more people would sign up for it, then trust me, there would be a lot more companies getting on board and offering the service.
@ChrisChaffin The only thing I know is that for us, people with sensory disability, it's FUNDAMENTAL starting now pressuring the "alternative" projects, insist for an ethics-based AI, because leaving the control to BUG tech, oops, BIG tech, is harmful especially with Trump sitting at the power chair.
@talksina Keep in mind that you can already get internet from some of the cell providers; Verizon I know for sure. And I am referring to WIFI, not just cellular. It would probably be companies like this that would give Musk competition.
@JStark I guess its the way you look at it. I don't look at it as an actual person, but rather just something that can help me and give me information when I need it. That said, I use it through the app, because currently, I do not have a pair of the glasses. Nevertheless, I do like their approach to it and what they are trying to do.
@ChrisChaffin sure but I'm not seeing much difference from all the other almost identical solutions except the attempts to humanise something that isn't
@JStark That is true, but in the end, I think it will have many more capabilities; like looking at your calendar, reminders, and GPS. This is part of the plan of making it more personalable. Not saying that it would still be the best for everybody, but it will be an option. In the end, choice is always good!
