Tiny love notes attached with gum cover the courtyard walls at the house of Juliet in Verona, Italy. It is said that if you leave a declaration of your love at Juliet's House you and your lover will be together forever. However, going forward, anyone found sticking notes to the 13th century walls will now be fined 500 Euros by the City of Verona due to the damage being caused. Not to worry though, removable walls have been erected in the tunnel leading to the courtyard of the house to allow for the tradition to continue.

Juliet’s House became a popular tourist attraction because of its possible connection to the heroine in William Shakespeare’s play ‘Romeo and Juliet’, which is set in Verona. It is thought that the house is the former home of the Cappello family, who may have been the model for the Capulets in the bard’s romantic tragedy.

The ancient house is located in the very center of the medieval town, in the Via di Cappello. The Gothic style house, once owned by the Cappello family and just a few minutes’ walk from the arena, was purchased by the city in 1905 for the purpose of displaying the statue of Juliet and setting up a museum for tourists.
