@mountainmindset I've been involved with trying to save old growth forests since the early 90s. Been arrested & in documentaries about that. We have been fighting for forestry reform in BC - with several different nonprofit organizations for several decades. Government keeps allowing clearcuts. It's maddening.
@PhoenixSerenity Are there any books or resources you'd recommend for learning more? I am curious to watch that documentary film. Im looking forward to checking out this an environmental film festival coming up soon.
@mountainmindset Some books I'd recommend:
Canopy of Titans: The Life and Times of the Great North American Temperate Rainforest, by Paul Koberstein, Jessica Applegate
Finding the Mother Tree, by Suzanne Simard.
The Hidden Life of Trees, by Peter Wohlleben, Jane Billinghurst (Translator).
The Power of Trees: How Ancient Forests Can Save Us if We Let Them, by Peter Wohlleben, Jane Billinghurst (Translator).

@PhoenixSerenity Thank you, I'm taking a deeper look today. I finally got to a place to take notes and look further into these suggestions. I appreciate you. I have "The Power of Trees" still to be read and have read 'The Hidden Life of Trees' in the past.
@mountainmindset I liked Canopy of Titans too, for the focus on PNW old growth forests.
@PhoenixSerenity Awesome, I'll have to add that one to my list. I'm better at collecting books than reading them it seems.
