Such a Canberra sculpture! This is in the Civic shopping area. A council worker told us that this will be moved soon to a new site - I can't remember where, but nearby.

A large sculpture of a black and white bird that is recognisable as the iconic Australian bird, the magpie. This sculpture shows the bird bending down and with it beak touching a giant sculpture potato chip (fry). In the background ks a car, pedestrians, shop fronts etc.

Another view of the same sculpture black and white bird bending down with its beak on a giant sculpture potato cheap. On this side of the bird the sun is shining on the side of the bird. Underneath is a plaque that tells us that the sculptor is Yanni Pounartzis. It is made of fibre glass, is called 'Big Swoop' and was installed in 2022.

The sign also says, "Magpies only. Please no climbing"
