One of the benefits of importing into a date-based folder structure with #Lightroom Classic is that it also makes selecting which photos to import a lot faster and easier. I think it’s interesting even if you’re not using a date-based organization, so I made a short 6-minute video demonstration.

I have put together a very rudimentary version of a Lightroom plugin to export directly to @pixelfed Give it a try and leave me some feedback. Feel free to boost it so that a few people who use Lightroom and Pixelfed will see it.
Just found out #adobe is increasing their prices on Jan 15 2025. I could technically lock in the photography 20gb price if I switch to annual, but maybe it's time to say goodbye to #LightroomClassic. If I were to go the free route I'd choose #AdobeBridge for DAM + #darktable for raws. For a perpetual licence option—#CaptureOnePro or #dxophotolab8, but since I already have #pureraw4, I'm leaning towards C1.

I serious hate #Adobe. The price rises are clearly just designed to make people commit to longer or pay more. I really hate this subscription model.
Sadly, #CaptureOne is also going that way. But at least they give you a free perpetual licence after 5 years unlike Adobe.
The annoying thing is that the only viable mobile editing platform for Android seems to be only #Lightroom, which means potentially being stuck with Adobe.
Wondering if the #photography community has any more ideas though.

Export versions of the #moon #photos I took this afternoon and evening. Included some pictures I took from my phone of my computer screen (lol) showing the zoomed-in detail in #Lightroom.
Absolutely incredible detail; Very little atmospheric interference. I think I'm now hitting the optical limitations of the lens and teleconverter. I won't be able to get photos like this once the late Spring and Summer months come as there will be too much atmospheric and thermal interference. #photography #astrophotography #moonphotography #lunarphotography #Nikon

Olen testaillut Pop OS:ää (Linux) jonkun aikaa ajamalla sitä ulkoiselta USB-levyltä. Ainut asia, mitä oikeasti kaipaan Windowsin puolelta on Adobe Lightroomin ja Photoshopin korvaajat. Olen koittanut useita eri vaihtoehtoja, mutta mikään ei pääse toimivuudeltaan, ominaisuuksiltaan ja käytettävyydeltään lähellekään noita kahta.
Olen kuitenkin ollut sen verran tyytyväinen @pop_os_official toimintaan, että kävin hakemassa tänään elämäni ensimmäisen M.2 -liittimeen tulevan kiintolevyn ja asentelin Pop OS:n siihen. Nyt piisaa vauhtia ja tallennustilaakin tuli samalla lisää pari teratavua 🥳
Kone boottaa oletuksena Linuxiin, mutta Windowsiinkin pääsen halutessani ☺️
