For #MusicWomenWednesday this week, I want to highlight a woman who you have probably never heard of. Her name is Haley Reinhart and she was on American Idol back when it was a relevant show. Unfortunately, she was just too original and interesting to get anywhere on the show and she only made it into the TOP TEN.
She did not stop making music though, and this is a cover of Radiohead's 'Creep' she made with the people at #PostModernJukebox

For this week's #MusicWomenWednesday, Nilufer Yanya and her song 'Method Actor'. Dig this one. Kinda jazzy at first and her voice is rad-- and then the cool distorted guitar hits at not even a minute in. Pretty cool, this one.
For #MusicWomenWednesday here's Rolling Quartz performing their newest single + a another song at their concert in Seoul a few days ago

Something upbeat from Spain (which, sadly, is in the midst of a terrible flooding event in Valencia and other areas).
María José Llergo from South Central Spain. You can hear Andalusia and Flamenco in her singing, although also pop and even a touch of hip hop.
She seems very bubbly and joyful during this Tiny Desk Concert from earlier this year.

For #musicwomenwednesday I’m selecting a song from Whitney’s underrated 1998 My love is your love album.
Witney Houston and I learned from the best.
#musicwomenwednesday Re-listened to "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" the other day and remembered why I liked it so much.
#MusicWomenWednesday I had no idea this was a thing, but please have a link to my latest obsession. Thanks to the magnificent @josey for introducing me to this artist

A recommendation on my Spotify is my #TheSundayStarter.
Dutch, female fronted band, with an atmospheric mix of dynamic #AltRock and #TripRock melodies. Here’s a song from their 2024 album ‘Alma’.

Hey all.
I’ve been listening to old CDs recently and I found a great nomination for #musicwomenwednesday
Lucie Silvas and The Game is Won (from 2004!!).
Still sounds epic. And what a voice!
I love so many Florence and the machine songs that it is hard to pick only one for @loewe and #MusicWomenWednesday
And I know I am repeating an artist but this delightful lady deserves it
The imagery conjured up with the lyrics, and I reckon gender can be substituted as per one's choice. It was just a man in Florence's personal situation
What kind of man

I don't know. I guess I've always been attracted to women who kick ass. My all-time favorite band is #HEART and I don't think anyone else even comes close, except MAYBE #LedZepplin. 🤔

Today for #MusicWomenWednesday, I wanna showcase one of my all time favorite singers, singing one of my all time favorite songs.
Joni Mitchell's songwriting is next-level, but the song 'Both Sides Now' is one of those songs that makes more sense the older you get. I remember liking it in my thirties, but as I get closer to 50, it makes even more sense. 🥰
