hello there, I'm back. I had no internet for 5 days straight and had some minor damage around the house due to the cyclone.

With the coming of dawn, there's a hint of red sky amongst the storm clouds.

$The Flinders Blowhole, located on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, is a striking geological feature shaped by coastal erosion. It is situated within Basalt cliffs formed from ancient volcanic activity, characteristic of the region’s complex geological history. Geology of Flinders Blowhole Volcanic Origin The area is primarily composed of Tertiary-age basalt, which originated from volcanic eruptions approximately 35–50 million years ago (during the Paleogene period). The basalt flows are part of the Older Volcanics group that once covered large parts of southeastern Australia. Coastal Erosion & Blowhole Formation Over millions of years, wave action and weathering have eroded the basalt cliffs, forming the blowhole and surrounding rock platforms. The blowhole itself is a sea cave or tunnel, where waves force water and air through a confined space, creating a dramatic spray effect, especially during high tide and rough seas. Rock Composition The basalt here is fine-grained and dark grey to black, typical of rapidly cooled lava. The rock surfaces exhibit signs of columnar jointing and fractures, which have been further widened by mechanical and chemical weathering. Surrounding Landforms The coastline near Flinders Blowhole includes cliffed headlands, wave-cut platforms, and sea stacks, all shaped by ongoing erosion processes. Nearby, the Bass Strait exerts strong wave energy, continually modifying the landscape.$
